MET Eikaiwa is an English learning center in Fuji City, Shizuoka, serving learners from 18 months old to adults. We provide online and face-to-face English lessons designed to match each learner’s level, goal, personality, and learning style.
Our teachers, trainers, and instructors include local and international educators who work together to create a warm, supportive, and motivating learning environment. At MET, English is not only a subject. It is a tool for communication, confidence, and future opportunity.

Our Classes
At MET, English is taught through a clear, systematic, and step-by-step program that develops strong literacy skills, practical communication, creativity, and confidence.
Learners progress from foundational to advanced phonics by developing an awareness of English speech sounds, connecting sounds with letters and letter combinations, and understanding common spelling patterns, syllable structures, and word-building rules. Reading, spelling, handwriting, vocabulary, grammar, and sentence formation are taught together, allowing each new skill to build naturally on previously learned foundations.
Our lessons combine structured instruction with games, stories, movement, guided practice, conversation, role-play, drama, presentations, and creative performance activities. Through storytelling, character work, voice, expression, and collaborative activities, learners develop pronunciation, rhythm, intonation, imagination, and the confidence to communicate in front of others.
This balanced approach helps students understand how English works while learning to use it naturally and meaningfully. Learners are encouraged not only to read and write accurately, but also to listen carefully, express their ideas, respond to others, and communicate with confidence in everyday and academic situations.
Learning goals are informed by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, or CEFR. Age- and level-appropriate “Can Do” objectives are used to guide learning in listening, spoken interaction, spoken production, reading, and writing. These objectives help teachers plan lessons, monitor progress, and give learners and families a clearer understanding of developing language skills.
Where appropriate, lessons also support learners working toward preparation for examinations through vocabulary, grammar, reading, listening, speaking, and writing practice.
Each lesson is adapted to the learner’s age, current ability, pace, interests, learning style, and individual goals. Through structured literacy, meaningful communication, and creative expression, MET helps learners build a strong foundation for continued English development.
Flexible Learning Paths
English For Children
Parent and Child and
Preschoolers
Our Preschool Class introduces children to English through songs, games, stories, movement, and interactive activities. Learners practice greetings, talk about themselves, and build everyday vocabulary related to colors, numbers, animals, and family. They also develop early phonics skills by recognizing letter sounds, connecting sounds with letters, and reading and writing simple words and short sentences. Each lesson encourages confidence and participation, while students may also prepare for EIKEN Junior according to their individual level and learning goals.
Early and Upper
Elementary Level
Our Elementary Level Class helps children move beyond basic greetings and simple words into real communication. At this stage, students can talk about their daily routines, family, hobbies, and school life. They begin to read short stories, understand simple instructions, and write short sentences. Lessons use games, projects, and role-plays to keep learning fun while building stronger speaking and listening skills. Children at this level are often ready to aim for EIKEN Grade 5 or Grade 4.
Jr. High School and
High School Students
Our Intermediate Level Class helps young learners move from simple communication to expressing real ideas. At this stage, students can talk about past experiences, future plans, and their opinions on familiar topics like school, hobbies, or friends. They read short articles and stories, and begin writing paragraphs about themselves and their interests. Lessons include discussions, role-plays, and project-based learning to develop confidence. Children at this level usually aim for EIKEN 3, Pre-2 and 2.
Adult
General English
Our General English Class helps learners develop practical English skills for everyday communication. Lessons cover speaking, listening, reading, writing, vocabulary, grammar, and pronunciation through useful topics such as introductions, shopping, travel, dining, work, hobbies, and daily routines.
Learners practice natural conversations, develop an understanding of common expressions, and build confidence in expressing their ideas clearly. Lessons are tailored to each learner’s level, needs, and goals.
English Test Preparation
Our English Test Preparation Course is designed for university students, job seekers, working professionals, and adults who want to improve their English skills for employment, career advancement, overseas assignments, or personal development.
Lessons focus on the vocabulary, grammar, listening, and reading skills needed for the TOEIC test. Students practice common question types, learn effective test-taking strategies, and improve their speed, accuracy, and confidence. Each lesson is tailored to the learner’s current level and target score.
Business English
Our Business English Course is designed for professionals, company employees, job seekers, and university students who want to communicate confidently in international business settings.
Lessons focus on practical skills such as writing emails, participating in meetings, giving presentations, handling telephone calls, negotiating, and communicating with colleagues and clients. Learners also develop business vocabulary, professional expressions, pronunciation, and cross-cultural communication skills.
Each lesson is tailored to the learner’s job, industry, English level, and professional goals.
